The household contents insurance replaces the entire inventory of the apartment or house at replacement value if it is damaged or destroyed by fire, water, burglary or storm and hail damage. There are two different insurance models. The first and original model is the sum insured model. It is important to estimate the value of your household goods correctly and to adjust it from time to time over the years. There is a guideline of 650€ sum insured per square meter, which should not be undercut. Otherwise, the insurance company may reduce the payment in the event of a claim.
The second and modern model is the living space model. It is enough to specify the number of square meters of living space and the insurance company calculates the price based on this. The advantage is that you can no longer be underinsured. After signing the contract, you can let it continue without any worries.
